    VIDEO • CAMERA

KBYO podcasts are video recorded, as well as, audio using the online Streamyard platform, not Zoom. Please check your webcam quality for HD resolution. You can also use your iPhone or Android smartphone as the primary webcam with the new Camo app. With this app you connect the phone via USB plug-in to your computer with apps.

  • AUDIO • MICROPHONES

KBYO is a video and audio podcast show recording, not often live. Before the recording please check your audio settings for your microphone (input) and speaker (output). We recommend a secondary mic plug-in, if possible, as built-in computer mics are not ideal. Plug in your mic to the computer before recording to test it all in advance before we recording.

  • LIGHTING • OPTIONS

Be sure to add a front facing light before your video on KBYO video recordings. Often people are top-lit, side-lit or badly backlit on camera, but you need a light on your face to see you clearly on camera. Try a ring light or other accessories, that are now easily available online to use. Many lamps and other household lights work well too.

  • CONNECTIVITY • INTERNET

Our episodes are often recorded remotely and thus your internet connection is very important. An ethernet plug-in can be the most stable, but most people can also use strong Wifi connections. Please check your connection before recording and consider where you will be when there. Google offers speedtests.

Personal tips prior to your KBYO podcast interview please do the following:

  • Typically wear solid color wardrobe that will show up well on a video camera, busy designs are not ideal

  • Keep water or something to drink nearby for your voice and throat so they are not too dry

  • Please show up ‘camera ready’ at least 5-10 minutes before the set call time, as early is on-time

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your KBYO podcast interview, please contact Jim, thank you!

We are excited to speak with you on the podcast!
